Customs North Region earns Rs94m more  Income Tax in three weeks than yesteryear’s

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region received Rs94million additional revenue of Income Tax (IT) during three weeks of January FY17-18 against the same period of corresponding FY16-17.

According to details given by official sources of the North Region, which comprises Model Customs Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Samberial and Gilgit-Baltistan, it was observed that, during first three weeks of January FY17-18, the North Region generated Rs452.46million as Income Tax (IT) against a revenue collection of Rs357.97million during the same period of FY16-17.
The sources told CT that, during above said period, the MCC Islamabad showed 58.30% achievement against the revenue collection of first three weeks of January FY16-17. The MCC Islamabad collected Rs215.51million of IT during first three weeks of FY17-18 against the revenue collection of Rs136.14million under the same head during the identical period of FY16-17. The Islamabad got Rs79million extra revenue against the previous Financial Year.
The MCC Peshawar demonstrated 26.39% growth by collecting the revenue during three weeks of January FY17-18. The Peshawar received Rs225.52million as IT while it earned Rs217.40million during the same period of FY16-17. It was told that the MCC Peshawar generated Rs8million extra collection against the corresponding period.
The MCC Samberial got Rs157.83%achievement under the head of IT during first three weeks of January FY17-18 against the same previous period. Sources notified CT that the collectorate earned Rs11.42million during said period of FY17-18 while it collected Rs4.43million under the same head during the first three weeks of January FY16-17. The Samberial generated Rs7million additional revenue against the identical corresponding period.
The North Regions’ Collectorate of GB remained closed due to heavy snow. Sources informed the correspondent that GB will start working in the month of May FY17-18.
