ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region collected Rs6752million of extra revenue of all duties and taxes against an assigned revenue collection target for a first half of Financial Year 2017-18.
According to details given by sources of Customs North Region, comprising Customs Collectorates of Islamabad, Peshawar, Sambrial and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), that the North Region received a revenue of Rs24281million as all taxes while it was allocated Rs17529million during a first half of (July to December) FY17-18. The North earned Rs16890million revenue under the same head during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.
The sources told CT that the North Region posted 138% average of achievement against earmarked revenue target for the first six months of FY17-18. The North proved 143% of growth under all the heads during a first half of FY17-18 against a collection during the same period of previous FY16-17.
The sources notified CT that North’s Customs Station Islamabad collected Rs11421.90million against an assigned revenue collection target of Rs6655.91million under all the heads during a first half of FY17-18 whereas the Islamabad customs got Rs6209million under the same heads during the same period of corresponding FY16-17. The Collectorate of Islamabad showed 171.61% average of achievement against an allocated revenue collection target while it proved 183.95% average of growth against a revenue collection under all the heads during first six months of previous FY16-17.
The sources informed the correspondent that Collectorate of Peshawar received Rs11548.67million under all the heads against an earmarked revenue collection target of Rs9956.27million under the head of all taxes while it generated Rs9128.29million under the same head during the same period of FY16-17. The Peshawar Customs displayed 115.99% average of achievement against an assigned revenue collection target. Sources further told CT that Samberial Collectorate demonstrated 71.67% growth against an earmarked revenue collection target for first six months of FY17-18 whereas the GB received 99.63% average of achievement against an allocated revenue collection target for first half of FY17-18 under all the heads.
