Customs officials meet Railway authorities for development of infrastructure facilities

ISLAMABAD: The Customs authorities held a meeting with Railways officials to develop physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, boundary wall, weighbridge, forensic lab) to make the dry port of international standard.

The meeting was led by Additional Collector Sharla Khan, the Divisional Commercial Officer Naseer Ahmed and Divisional Transport Officer Hamad Farooq. Representatives of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) also participated in meeting.

Addressing the participants, Assistant Collector Amanat Ali Khan said that Railways officials noted all the needed requirements of dry port Islamabad and promise that PR will provide the security wall, carpet road and all other required things which are urgently needed to build the business activity better through Islamabad dry port as soon as possible.

Assistant collector said that it was also came under discussion that business community demanding forensic lab and computerize weighbridge with in terminal to saving of there time and money.

A collector added that representatives of ICCI told matters of importers and exporters relating with dry port which can be solve with efforts of PR because PR is custodian of dry port Islamabad.
