KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue FBR has promoted all the officials of Pakistan Customs from grade BS-16 to BS-17 with effect from December 18, 2015.
In this regard, Qasim Khan Khattak Secretary Mgt.Cus-III forwarded a letter to all the Chief Collectors of Customs informing about the development made by the FBR.
“In pursuance of approval conveyed vide Finance Division’s OM No 1(138)R-I/2015-908 dated 18.12.2015, all the existing regular Principal Appraiser BS-16, Superintendent Preventive BS-16 and Superintendent Customs BS-16 in the Customs Department under the administrative control of the FBR are hereby granted one time Higher Time Scale BPS-17 with effect from 18.12.2015”, according to a letter available with Customs Today.
The Higher Time Scale is subject to the following terms and conditions: On time grant of BPS-17 is allowed to all the regular incumbents of above post, irrespective of their length of service. In future, three years satisfactory service in above cadre/post BPS-16 is prescribed for grant of BPS-17 to them.
The recruitment rules, nomenclature / tier of the posts and seniority of incumbents of above posts remain intact. In the future, the grant of higher time scale BS 17 will be subject to fitness of candidate and recommendations of the relevant DPC.
On grant of higher time scale, pay will be fixed at the next above stage in BPS-17 and no pre-mature increment is admissible. On grant of higher time scale there shall be no change in the entitlement/admissibility of rental ceiling/house rent allowance/medical allowance.
