Customs Preventive collects Rs 11,235m duty, taxes from July to November

LAHORE: Collectorte of Customs Preventive has collected Rs 11,235 million under the head of duty and taxes from July to November during the financial year 2016-17.

The collectorate, under supervision of Collector Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas, collected Rs 3,085 million as customs duty, Rs 4,900 million as sales tax and Rs 3,129 million as withholding tax during the first five months of the current financial year.

The collectorate collected Rs 119 million federal excise duty as compared to Rs 47 million collected during the same period of the last finical year.

The collectorate collected all the revenue from airport, Wagah border, railway station, and by Anti-Smuggling Organization besides other stations. The collection was made on account of duty and taxes on import and export from Lahore.

Sources said that Collector Zulfiqar Younis has been visiting all the station and has urged the additional and deputy collectors to achieve the target for the financial year 2016-17.
