ASO seizes 1275 KVA generator worth Rs 7m

LAHORE: Customs Preventive’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has detained a non-customs paid mega 1275 KV industrial generator.

Sources told Customs Today that customs authorities, on secret information, intercepted a vehicle loaded with the generator near Sagian Interchange. The generator was being brought to Lahore from Sheikhupura factory for repair.

The sources said that the customs authorities detained the generator as the owners failed to produce legal clearance documents. The sources said that the value of the generator is Rs 7 million. The generator was detained on the instruction of Customs Collector Zulfiqar Younis.

The source said that the customs authorities have initiated investigations the suspects after registering a case against them.
