Customs Preventive fixes new date for “Customs Golf Cup” tournament

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive will hold first ever “Customs Golf Cup” on October 14, 15, 2016 at the Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club which was earlier called off in August. Earlier the Golf Cup tournament was postponed due to heavy rains and forecast for more rains in August.  The management had announced August 26, 27 as the date for holding the tournament but it could not happened.

Customs House headquarters Deputy Collector Muhammad Afzal told Customs Today that now the weather is stable so the management has decide to hold the Golf Cup tournament on October 14,15.

Amateur golf players/ officers/ officials of Pakistan Customs department will participate in the tournament, it was said reliably.

At the end of the tournament a prize distribution ceremony will also be held. In 2-days golf tournament event, first day ladies (9 holes), seniors (18 holes), veterans (9 holes) is schedule while on 2nd day Invitees (9 holes) will be played before the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Among others regular Gymkhana Club golfer, provincial secretaries, officers from Pakistan Rangers, officers from Airport Security Force, Lahore and renowned businessmen are invited. It is expected that around 150 players of different categories will participate in the tournament.

It is said that Punjab Governor Rafiq Rajwana has consented to be the chief guest on the occasion while Customs top officials including Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Samaira Nazir, Collector Customs Preventive Zulifqar Younas will also be present on the occasion.
