Customs Preventive foils bid to smuggle heroin to foreign countries

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive staff deputed at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) has made the attempt of heroin smuggling unsuccessful.

According to the details, on a tip-off, higher authorities of Customs Preventive unearthed smuggling of narcotics to the foreign countries after two successfully raids here on 20.11.2018 at Jinnah Airport.

The source informed Customs Today that a team was constituted under the supervision of the Additional Collector Sana Ullah Abro to apprehend the narcotics which were being smuggled to foreigner countries through two different parcels.

Reacting over the information passed by the higher authorities, the raiding team managed to apprehend the parcels before both were being shipped on the given address, the source informed.

In first raid, a parcel which was designated for Belgium was intercepted within the time span. The parcel was containing over five hundred and twenty five grams of heroin has been taken into the customs. In another raid, conducted by the same team, intercepted the second parcel which was designated to London. The second parcel was containing four hundred and thirty five grams of heroin, the source added .

Both the parcels along with recovered nine hundred and sixty grams heroin were taken into the custody and a case has been filed against the smugglers involved in the heinous crime. The addresses of the sender and the receiver have been noted by the Customs Preventive team to further inquire the case.
