Customs Preventive seizes smuggled iron, cloth‏ worth Rs 2m

LAHORE: Customs Preventive authorities have seized smuggled goods worth Rs 2 million during a crackdown.

According to official sources, the staff of the Anti-Smuggling Organisation Customs Collectorate (Preventive), in pursuance to an information under the supervision of Assistant Collector Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan, intercepted a bus registration No.LWC-9271 and recovered smuggled goods, including cloth, LEDs , shampoo and iron. The bus was carrying these goods from Peshawar to Lahore. The value of the goods is more than 2 million in local market.

ASO team asked the owner of bus to provide legal documents regarding possession of above said items, but he failed to produce any documents. ASO team seized the items and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
