Customs Preventive starts pick, drop facility for Wagah Border staff

LAHORE: Customs Preventive has started pick and drop facility for the employees serving at the Wagah Border Customs establishments. Collector Customs Preventive Dr Zulfiqar Younis has directed to start the service.

As per details, the service has been started and the staff deployed at the Wagah Border are being picked and dropped at their residences and offices.

The facility has been provided to employees of the customs who live far away from Wagah Border, especially who live 35 kilometer away from the station.

It was said that coaster will leave from Customs House at 6:30 am and reach 9am at Wagha Border picking up staff from Wafaqi Colony via GT Road and Ring Road in morning while the coaster will leave from Customs House and reach back dropping all the staff near their homes.  The Customs House employees have lauded the facility saying that earlier they were facing difficulties reaching back home and approaching the Wagha station. They appreciated the new management pro-employee initiative.

On other hand, Collector Customs Preventive told Customs Today that following transfers and posting the major issue which erupted was long distance between the city and Wagha Border and in order to enable the employees comfortably to their place of posting the service has been started.
