Customs Preventive team recovers welding electrodes worth Rs20m from Brandreth Road

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team recovered huge quantity of welding electrodes worth Rs20 million during a raid.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Preventive Ahmad Rauf received credible information that huge quantity of welding electrodes are dumped in a godown located at Brandreth Road. He immediately constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Additional Collector Ashfaq Khan, Assistant Collector Salman Javed, which also includes Superintendent Shahid Joiya, Inspector Sohail Murtaza, Inspector Zia Bhatti, Agha Sultan, Mohammad Saleem and Shahzad Ishaq etc. he raided at the godown and recovered huge quantity of welding electrodes.

The market value of seized electrodes is Rs20 million. Customs Preventive team after registering a case started investigations. It is necessary to mention here that Collector Ahmad Rauf directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggled goods.

He directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling must be dealt according to law.
