Customs Quetta pays Rs90.939m rebates to exporters during five months 20 days

QUETTA: The Model Customs Collectorate Quetta paid Rs90.939million Rebate Refunds to the exporters during five months and 20 days of December FY17-18.

This was said by Ashraf Ali, Customs Collector Quetta, while notifying CT that, during the month of November FY 17-18, collectorate awarded Rs42.896million of CD to the exporters while it paid Rs11.894million under the same head in form of rebate refunds during the month of September FY17-18. December’s rebate figures under the head of CD were not calculated yet.
The Collector MCC Quetta informed correspondent that, during the month of October FY17-18, the collectorate paid Rs29.902million as CD whereas the collectorate paid Rs6.247million under the same head during the month of November FY17-18.
He said the exports and imports have also increased because of enforcement efforts taken by collectorate along with the Frontier Corps and police. Smugglers have been diverted to do legal import/export through customs stations working under the Collectorate of Quetta.
‘There are many avenues for business community of exporters, especially the processing and storage of fresh fruits produced in Balochistan’. Fresh fruits can be processed for preparing of jams, juices and other products which may be exported to other neighboring countries, he told.
