KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed Director Reforms and Automation (Customs) to update WeBOC system in order to implement regulatory duty as per court’s order.

On a query raised by Customs Appraisement East regarding implementation of high court order in respect of regulatory duty dispute on import of certain items falling under SRO 1035(I)/2017 and the clearance thereof, the FBR responded that creation of distortion in WeBOC system by artificially creating an exemption is not warranted, especially as it would also fail to implement the court’s order to the extent of sales tax and withholding tax.
