Customs Rawalpindi seizes huge quantity of narcotics

ISLAMABAD: Directorate-General Customs Intelligence and Investigations Rawalpindi has thwarted an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of hashish and opium to different parts of the country. Collector Customs Intelligence and Investigations Lutufullah Virk commended the performance of the raiding team.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director received a credible information that a huge quantity of narcotics is being smuggled. After which he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Director Shahid Jan. The Customs team intercepted a truck and seized the narcotics. All the narcotics were hidden in secret parts of the truck .

During interrogation, the accused persons revealed that some renowned persons are also behind this smuggling attempt. Customs authorities are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused. All the arrested persons were produced before the Anti-Narcotics Court and obtained their physical remand.
