Syed Qamber Ali filed the petition, levelling serious allegations of harassment against Deputy Collector Shiraz Ahmed and Customs Investigation Officer Raza Abbas Haider.

The petitioner submitted that the deputy collector summoned him for interrogation with regard to a duty and tax evasion case registered against importer M/s Maria Traders and clearing agent Air Sea Alliance. He said he had no any connection with the case.

Nevertheless, he said, they once again summoned him to their office. The petitioner complained that he was being harassed by the officials who were demanding Rs 58,000. Upon failure, he added, they had threatened to implicate him in the case.

He, therefore, requested the court to restrain the official respondents from harassing him.
