Customs Sara-e-Muhajir impounds NDP Toyota Hilux Surf loaded on trailer

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sara-e-Muhajir took into possession a foreign origin used Toyota Hilux Surf loaded on a trailer. The market value of the vehicle is Rs3.3million involving customs duty to the tune of Rs1.2million. The trailer impounded values at Rs1.2million.

Sources told Customs Today that Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani received a tip-off regarding some non-duty-paid vehicles plying on roads. He constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Choudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Muhammad Umar, Hawaldar Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Sepoys Sher Ahmad, Said Rasool and Faiz Ahmad.

The ASO team intercepted a Toyota Hilux Surf bearing registration No: AA-2468 near Sara-e-Muhajir, district Bhakkar, and asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle. But the driver failed to show any relevant documents.
