Customs seizes 1120 mobile phones during operation

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has thwarted separate attempts to smuggle 1120 mobile phones of different brands at Bainazir Bhutto shaheed Airport Islamabad .

According to details, the Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad received an information that an attempt to smuggle mobile phone of different brands would be made via Emirates airline on flight no. EK-614 and Qatar airways Flight no, QR 636 on Bainazir Bhutto shaheed Airport Islamabad.

After receiving the information raiding party was constituted during the search it observed smuggled goods were dumped in the left over luggage by removing airline tags to conceal its ownership. The left over luggage were search from which recovered 1120 of mobile phones including Samsung, Nokia, Sony Erricson, Expiria, Motorola and LG were recovered. The Customs authority has registered FIRs against the unknown person.
