Customs seizes women’s cloth worth of Rs 4.63 million

ISLAMABAD: The anti-smuggling squad of the Customs Collectorate has seized a huge quantity of women’s cloth worth of Rs 4.63 million.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan told Customs Today that the customs anti-smuggling squad was using all means to curb smuggling in the jurisdiction of Islamabad Customs.

He said that a customs team intercepted a passenger bus on GT Road which was coming from Peshawar. During checking of the bus, the customs team found a huge quantity of foreign origin women suiting viscose weighing 416 kilograms worth Rs 2.1 million.

The ASO also seized 114 kilogram cloth worth Rs 2.52370 million. The customs team comprised Superintendent Nasir Barlas and Deputy Superintendent Rana Shakeel. The Customs officials asked the driver of the passenger bus to produce legal documents of the goods, but he failed. As a result, the customs team seized the goods and registered a case against the suspects.
