Customs seizes smuggled generators, dry milk, almonds

LAHORE: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence has seized smuggled industrial generators, dry milk and almonds worth Rs 6.5 million in various operations, official sources told Customs Today here Tuesday.

According to details, the directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigations and staff of the directorate, while taking action on information, intercepted a truck loaded with smuggled items at New Ravi Road.

The sources said that officials also recovered 100 bags of dry milk from a resident of Patoki while during another operation the Customs Intelligence and Investigations also impounded 262 bags which were supplied from Quetta.  In yet another raid, the anti-smuggling team of the directorate also seized 350 KV industrial generators which were being smuggled from Swat to Lahore.

The operations were conducted on the instruction of Customs Intelligence and Investigations director Lahore Saud Imran and under the supervision of superintendent Nasir Minhas and Muhammd Rauf.
