Customs seizes smuggled video jet ink, fabrics

ISLAMABAD: With special instruction of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Anti-smuggling squad Model Custom Collectorate, Islamabad, along with squad of Directorate of Intelligence and Investigating seized smuggled foreign origin video jet ink and imported fabric under the value of Rs 418,000.

According to details, the anti-smuggling squad and Customs Intelligence and Investigating squad seized imported fabric of 658 kg worth Rs 345,450 during the joint operation.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that it was a very good seizer which was jointly operated by both squads of Directorate of custom intelligence and anti smuggling squad Islamabad customs.

He said that this seizer was intercepted at GT Road Rawalpindi-Peshawar, during this seizer the anti smuggling squads was abducted foreign origin video jet ink of 95 liters under value of Rs73500. Deputy collector said that it was a non-notified seizer which was conducted with professionally manners and collected a handsome amount of revenue of Rs4,18000 million.

Deputy collector said that Model Custom Collectorate is making its anti smuggling activity very successfully to curb the smuggling activities; these activities are harmful for the assets of the nations.

He said that FBR has announced reward money for good performance of Customs staff that performs very well in current financial year 2015-16, the FBR announced 6million for all the staff of Modal Custom Collectorate.

Shahid said that Collector Dr Arslan gives an appreciation call to the Custom Intelligence and investigation mobile squad as well as to the mobile squad of Modal Customs Collectorate those are conducted said seizer jointly and successfully.

The staff of Islamabad Customs who was participating in this seizer was DSA Adnan Dar, DS Shakeel Rana, DS Matloob Hussain Shah, Inspector Yousaf Mughal, Inspector Muhammad Asif and diver Mukhtar were included in the team.
