Customs siezes two containers of Poppy Seeds worth Rs 5.5m

KARACHI: Directorate of Customs intelligence and investigation enforcement (IR) has confiscated  consignment of smuggled poppy seeds worth  million of rupees.

As per details,  Customs export department has a compliant about M/s Kamran Plastic that Kamran Plastic has cleared its consignment while showing false goods deceleration in which it declares the goods as sea salt and cleared it by using green channel.

The sources told Customs today, after that the Customs find the consignment suspicious and re-examined, where it found that instead of sea salt Kamran Plastic is exporting Poppy seeds. Customs seized two containers of 35 tones Poppy Seeds  worth Rs 5.5 million and has started further investigation.
