Customs staff not following dress code at Mughalpura Dry Port

LAHORE: Customs Collectorate Appraisement staff deputed at Mughalpura Dry Port is not properly following the instructions to wear official uniform while performing their official duties.

Earlier, the Customs Collectorate Appraisement had issued a circular regarding dress code on the premises of the Mughalpura Dry Port. However, after the passage of time, officials once again have started violating the strict instructions of the authorities regarding uniform.

Meanwhile, sources told Customs Today that the Customs Appraisement has issued a circular that all staff, including deputy superintendents, inspectors, hawaldars and sepoys, should be in proper uniform. The appraisers and ministerial staff of the collectorate has also been directed to attend their offices in the prescribed uniform.  These measures were taken to improve security at the Mughalpura Dry Port.

The circular was issued after observing that the staff was not following the dress code of the Customs Department even after directions by the Assistant Collector Headquarters.
