Customs holds public auction of seized goods, vehicles today

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate auction cell is holding public auction of costly non-duty  paid vehicles and various kinds of smuggled goods at State Warehouse on Saturday (today).

According to details, auction cell is presenting 15 various types of luxury non-duty  paid vehicles as for as 40 different types of seized smuggled goods. The sources said that the vehicles which were set for sale include Toyota Corona 1982 model, Hyundai car 1990 model, Mercedes Benz car 2 doors 2004 model, Toyota Vitz car 1000CC 2002 model, Mercedes Benz car CLS-350 (AMG) 2005 model, Mitsubishi Lancer car-1990 model, Toyota Hilux Surf model 1998, Nissan Sunny car model 2004, Toyota Land Cruiser-1993 model, Ford van 1995 model, Toyota Hilux Surf 1993 model, Toyota Corolla car 1994 model, Toyota Land Cruiser (LHD) 1990, LD Convoy van 2004 model, Toyota Corolla-X car 2003 model.

The smuggled goods, which will be offered for auction, includes different types of food grains, fabric, auto spare parts, LED TVs and other different items. Sources said that auction will be organized under supervision of assistant collector auction cell Islamabad at State Warehouse.

Sources said that the auction will be open for general public adding that people who will participate in the auction will have to bring Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

Sources said that customs authorities are optimistic that they will generate around Rs30 million to Rs40 million through auction of these vehicles and goods. The successful bidders will have to deposit 25% of total amount of the lot on the spot, the auction will be start at 11 a.m.
