“The testing of the WeBOC at Wagha Border is in the final phase and after Wagha other major land stations including Torkham, Chaman, Taftan, Sust, Quetta Railway Station and Lahore Railway Station are on the list for WeBOC automation installation,” he said.

He said that WeBOC is not installed at most of the land stations but after its testing at Wagah; customs authorities will install the automation service on other major land stations.

“The automation of the Customs import/export process at the land stations would not only offer convenience to the importers but also ensure payment of due duties and taxes by traders,” he said, adding that each month 5000-6000 GDs have been filed by traders through land points which will be administered through WeBOC after installation.

He said Customs will provide WeBOC service on all airports of country as currently WeBOC was provided on 45 per cent of airports in Pakistan and18,000-20,000 GDs were filed each month on Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad airports.

“The overall volume of WeBOC through sea, land and air combined has increased from 57 per cent last year to 63 per cent this year so far and with the beginning of Wagah land point testing, customs will be able to increase this volume to 80 per cent,” he added.
