Customs Torkham reflects brilliance by profiting from different collections of taxes

PESHAWAR: The Customs Station Torkham has collected Rs5078.85million revenue from July to January 25, 2017-18 against Rs3487.89million revenue collected in previous FY2016-17 from July to January 25.

So the station collected R1590.96million more revenue in current FY2017-18 than the total gain in the previous year’s period of time.

The Customs Station Torkham has collected Rs2145.01million of net Customs Duty out of which it has done Rs1293.46million as CD and Rs783.35million under the head of Redemption Duty while Rs58.66million has been generated by selling off miscellaneous goods during current FY2017-18.

The official of Torkham Customs Station informed Customs Today on Thursday that the Torkham Customs collected Rs1182.64million of Sales Tax and Rs139.27million as ST on VM Imports while Rs0.42million has been received by collecting ST on VM palm oil.

The Customs Station in this way has got Rs1611.48million of Withholding Tax out of which it has done Rs379.82million as AIT Export from July to January during current F2017-18.

Collector Customs Gull Rahman eulogized the efforts of the customs staff posted at Customs Station Torkham and said several seizures were also executed by customs officials which also added a handsome part of revenue to the customs exchequer.
