Customs tribunal hears 15 cases, puts off hearings

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal’s Division Bench-II (single and double), comprising Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem and Member Technical Imran Tariq, heard 15 cases and adjourned all of them until the next hearing.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal’s single bench, comprising Omer Arshed Hakeem, heard six cases including Muhammad Khalid Hussain versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Customs Faisalabad versus E. R. Brothers, Directorate Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore versus Elahi Corporation, Muhammad Asgher versus Customs Lahore, Tanveer Hussain versus Customs Faisalabad and JP Construction versus Customs Lahore.

On Wednesday, the tribunal division bench-II heard nine cases of  Nimra Textile versus Customs Faisalabad, Gogha Shahbaz versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, Azhar Hussain versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Salman Butt versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.

Furthermore, the tribunal heard Muhammad Safder versus Customs Multan, Ali Raza Shah versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, Owais & Shoaib versus Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, Ali Shan versus Customs Multan and Surriya Textile versus Customs Lahore.

In all the cases, representatives of the appellants and respondents appeared before the court and argued in favour of their respective parties. The tribunal reserved few verdicts and adjourned all other cases until next dates.
