Customs tribunal sets aside Valuation Ruling 608/2013, Order in Original No 25/2014

KARACHI: A division bench of Customs Appellate Tribunal Karachi comprising Muhammad Yahya, member-technical and Muhammad Nadeem, member-judicial has allowed the appeal filed by Pakistan Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Association.

According to the details the appeal was filed under Section 194-A of Customs Act 1969 against the Oder in Original (No 25/2014 dated 14-03-2014 passed by the Director General Customs Valuation.

The order stated that “in view of the foregoing legal and factual positions, we are of the view that the impugned Valuation Ruling No 608/2013 had been issued without any lawful exercise. The review order also failed to address the valid grounds raised before the learned director general valuation. We, therefore allow the appeal and set aside valuation ruling no 608/2013 dated 07-11-2013 and the impugned review order no 25/2014 dated 14-03-2014.
