LAHORE: Due to the vacant post of the chairman in Customs Appellate Tribunal, there are numbers of application are pending in the tribunals, filed by importers and customs department.
As per details, former Chairman Customs Appellate Tribunal, Justice Muhammad Tariq has relinquished the charge a few days ago as he has assumed the charge as the chairman of the Labour Appellate Tribunal Lahore.
The judicial and technical members of tribunal hears cases on the recommendations of chairman that holds office in Islamabad and distributes cases among all benches of customs and control all sub offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Due to vacant seat of chairman appellate tribunal hundreds of cases are pending in benches of customs tribunal.
