The subject of the letter was textile fabric for ladies shirting (embroidered) 85 percent artificial fiber viscose, Vide G.D No ICSI-HC-2398 dated 30.06.2014 and G.D No ICSI-HC-2403 dated 30.06.2014, M/s Ahsaan Traders”.

The letter informed the deputy director that the valuation methods given in Section 25 of the Customs Act 1969 were followed. Transaction valuation method as provided in Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the Act was found inapplicable because requisite information was not available.

Identical/similar goods valuation methods provided in sub-section (5) & (6) of Section 25 of the Act could not be followed because of considerable variation in declared values.

Consequently, market enquiry as envisaged under Sub-Section 25(7) of the Act was carried out to determine the customs value.
