Letter No 1/66/2014-IV/7993 dated December 29, 2014 sent to the Islamabad MCC (Dry Port) deputy collector by Assistant Director Group-4 said that the case has been examined in the light of reference made and data available on record.

The subject of the letter was textile fabric for ladies shirting (embroidered) 85 percent artificial fiber viscose, Vide G.D No ICSI-HC-2398 dated 30.06.2014 and G.D No ICSI-HC-2403 dated 30.06.2014, M/s Ahsaan Traders”.

The letter informed the deputy director that the valuation methods given in Section 25 of the Customs Act 1969 were followed. Transaction valuation method as provided in Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the Act was found inapplicable because requisite information was not available.

Identical/similar goods valuation methods provided in sub-section (5) & (6) of Section 25 of the Act could not be followed because of considerable variation in declared values.

Consequently, market enquiry as envisaged under Sub-Section 25(7) of the Act was carried out to determine the customs value.
