Dar approves revenue booster project for FBR

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has approved a project “Road to Seven Trillion” for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to increase the revenue collection to Rs 7 trillion in upcoming three fiscal years.

The project is the brainchild of two competent officials of the FBR named Ali Mansoor and Qadeerullah who developed it after long research and hard working. Both officers briefed the finance minister and Special assistant to PM on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan and FBR officers in a meeting of Tax Reforms Commission (TRC) and also in another meeting.

Dar appreciated the project terming it a workable project, adding that working on the project should be started in the running fiscal year instead of waiting for next fiscal year. However, the funding for this project will be approved in next fiscal year budget 2016-17, he said.

The minister has directed the officials to start implementation of the project before the start of new fiscal year to achieve the projected revenue.
