Dar chairs meeting on Spectrum Auction

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting about the Spectrum Auction the other day.

Minister of State for Information Technology, Anusha Rehman Khan and Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Syed Ismail Shah gave a detailed briefing on the progress made so far by the Spectrum Auction Committee on the auction of the available spectrum for the new entrants as well as the existing players.

The meeting noted that the process was on track and being undertaken  keeping in view the international standards and practices, better service for the consumers and most importantly ensuring that it is beneficial for the country.

The Finance Minister appreciated the efforts made by Ministry of IT, PTA and the Spectrum Auction Committee.

He hoped that the upcoming auction would be as successful as it was in the past and advised that all concerned should ensure the transparency in the auction process.

Special Advisor to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Law, Ashtar Ausaf, SAPM on HRD, Barrister Zafarullah and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and PTA attended the meeting.
