FIA seeks telecom companies help to arrest human trafficers, illegal money changers

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has made a plan to nab around 400 human traffickers-cum-proclaimed offenders and their facilitators with the help of private telecom companies.

Sources told Customs Today that human traffickers are residing in various parts of the country with their changed names after looting people. The FIA is also tightening their screws around illegal money changers and collecting data of these money changers from various parts of the country. Sources informed that the FIA authorities arrested seven accused persons who were operating as illegal money changers.

It is pertinent to mention here, that some employees of ASF and other departments who are deputed at airports are also involved in currency smuggling. Sources said that all the arrested accused persons belong to Punjab.

FIA registered separate cases of human smuggling, and currency smuggling against arrested accused persons and started investigations from them in this regard.
