The team asked the owners of the item and vehicle, who introduced themselves as Rashid Khalid and Ashraf, to show documents regarding the legal import of the cloth but they could not produce the same. So the officials took into possession the smuggled vehicle and grey cloth under customs bylaws and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now Deputy Collector Saima issued a notice to the accused on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act-1969 punishable under Section 156 (1) 89 of the Custom Act-1969 and called them to show the cause as to why said item should not be confiscated under aforementioned provisions of bylaws.

However the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on the next date of hearing. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.

The adjudication authority also directed Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat to attend the hearing on the scheduled date along with the relevant record.
