DC Asma issues notice to owner of smuggled Suzuki Jimny

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the owner of a non-duty paid Suzuki Jimny.

According to details, the ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. JAF-257 near Shiekhpura Road, Faisalabad, for checking and asked the driver named Habibullah to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he failed to produce the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the car and sent the case to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action against the suspect. Now, the authority has issued notices to accused persons on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.

However, the Customs Adjudication has directed the suspect to file his reply by given time. The cases of the vehicle might be decided on next date of hearing i.e. December 25, 2016.

Meanwhile, Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan has issued a show cause notice to Fahid Yaqoob who is owner of a smuggled Toyota Premio car.

The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded a bearing Registration No. NW–975 during an intelligence based operation near MM Alam Road, Mianwali. The official asked driver named Fahad Yaqoob to show document regarding legal import of the vehicle, but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication. The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.
