DC Asma issues notice to suspect of vehicle smuggling

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the owner of a non-duty paid Hino Ranger truck.

The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence team intercepted a truck near Jhumra Road for checking and asked the driver, Mohammad Abbas, to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he failed to produce the documents.

Therefore, the officials impounded the truck and sent the case to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action against the suspect.

Now, the authority has issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed the suspect to file his reply by given time. The cases of the vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.
