According to details, Lahore BTB issued 18,000 notices to the potential taxpayers who have not been filing their returns evading huge taxes.
Moreover, the BTB department created total tax demand of Rs 2 billion out of which Rs 400 million come under minus account.

Sources disclosed that in a recent meeting Lahore BTB Department has devised a comprehensive strategy to bring the owners of the plazas in tax net who have availed LDA’s commercialization scheme.
They informed that BTB has attained access to the details about millions of commercial property owners who availed the LDA commercialization policy. The department will analyze the data assessing the capability of the potential taxpayers, they added.
On the other hand, however, the BTB Department has very limited infrastructure and men power which could be served as one of the impediments in the compliance of the issued notices and other related jobs.
