Denmark’s port turnover increases 9.2% to reach 237 million kroner

DENMARK: The port of Aarhus get a growth of 9.2 percent, 237 million Kroner as compared to 2013.Net income is also doubled at 46 million Kroner in 2014 as compared 2013.

Jacob flyybjerg Christensen stated, that we have increased activities in some areas of business and can look at the figures that the increase comes in terms of new customers, and by virtue costumers existed already have strengthened their business at Aarhus Harbour. These are very good signs for future.

Port of Aarhus have highest market share in Denmark as looking at cargo turnover for 2014.conutainer and bulk sale increased 3.5 and 8.1 percent respectively.

While the total cargo turnover declined by 5.6 percent due to Kattegat route revenue where the last ship sailed in October 2013 and if this route gets consideration, there has been an increase of 4.4 percent in 2014 in the  total cargo turnover.

Port of Aarhus is grabbing more income from Rental of buildings and land which is an essential part of Port income. Here, revenue increased by 4 million Kroner in 2014, equivalent to six percent.

Rental of buildings and land, which is another essential part of the Port of Aarhus’ income, is also growing. Here, revenue increased equivalent to 6 percent in 2014 with four million kroner.

During the period of 2014-2017 port expects to invest more than 500 million Kroner on new building and facilities which is a part of an investment plan for the future by the Port of Aarhus.
