Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issues ONO in favour of ASO Sara-e-Muhajir‏

FAISALABAD: The Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Asma Hameed has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of Anti-Smuggling Organization Sara-e-Muhajir.

According to details, a team of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a Toyota Corolla car bearing registration no. A- 5818 (Peshawar) near Chashma Barrage Chowk Sara-e-Muhajir. The smuggled vehicle was brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes through unauthorized way.

The Customs team arrested the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Ghazanfar Ali Khan son of Hameed ullah Khan who is a resident of D.I khan. The Customs official asked the driver to produce documents regarding import of vehicle. But he failed to produced the lawful proof it impartation even registration book. The particular of the vehicle were checked on the website and found not tallied. The incharge of PRAL customs dry port Faisalabad has informed that the vehicle having chassis number No, NZE 121-3229978 was not imported in the country. Seizure report along with enclosures is being submitted to adjudication authority for adjudication.

During the proceedings, Inspector Muhammad Umar Bhatti was appeared from the petitioner side and no one was appeared from the respondent side. The case decided on the basis of the facts and material available. After hearing the case deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued ONO in favor of ASO Sara-e-Muhajir under section 156(1)89 of the Customs Act 1969.
