Deputy Collector Asma issues show cause to owner of non-duty paid Toyota Vitz

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued a show cause notice to owner of non-duty paid Toyota Vitz car.

Sources told Customs Today that Faisalabad Customs Intelligence team impounded a Toyota Vitz car bearing registration no. QA – 399 . Acting upon the information, the Customs Intelligence team established check-post near MM Road, district Mianwali.

The Customs team intercepted the above said vehicle, during chase of vehicle the driver escape from the spot taking advantages of the darkness. The Customs Intelligence team impounded the vehicle and efforts were made to trace the location of the driver but they remained failed to find the owner .

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed to file their replies by given time, which is also last date of hearing.

Deputy Collector Asma Hameed while hearing cases of non-duty paid vehicle had issued notice to unclaimed person. They are directed to file their replies in their respective cases in next month. The cases of vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.
