DG Customs Intelligence orders inquiry against inspector

MULTAN: Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Imtiaz Ahmad Khan has directed an inquiry against inspector of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Munawar Shah. The inspector is facing the charges of misconduct and bribery.

According to details, Inspector Munawar Shah was transferred from Islamabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation to Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office as he was facing the charges of corruption. An importer complained to the Customs Intelligence and Investigation officials about Inspector Munawar Shah that he had asked them for bribery few days ago.

Inspector Munawar Shah has not joined his duties at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office, ignoring the directions of director. Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has directed Inspector Munawar Shah to join the investigations of department where he will record his statement to committee.

After the completion of interrogation, Customs Intelligence and Investigation will present a detailed report about the bribery charges surfaced by importer.
