KARACHI: Director General Directorate of Customs Valuation, Samaira Nazir Khan has rejected the review petition filed by Bismillah Agencies Karachi in connection with the amendments in Valuation Ruling No 661/2014 regarding the valuation of replacement of automotive parts.
Order-in-Revision issued by Director General (DG) Customs Valuation Samaira Nazir Khan stated that the petition filed by Bismillah Agencies lacked merit as the petitioner remained unable to substantiate his contention to disprove the validity of impugned ruling. However; as per request of the petitioner, the respondent may ensure that in the event of future revision exercise, the petitioner may also be offered to attend the valuation proceedings to give their input, if any. “The petition otherwise failed on merit and rejected accordingly”, she added.
Earlier, the review petition was filed by Bismillah Agencies Karachi against Valuation Ruling No 661/2014 regarding valuation of replacement automotive parts. In the petition, the importer was of the view that he was not called for meeting in the valuation proceedings. Therefore, the decision taken in the valuation of “Sealed Beam” was without his input and was on higher side. He contended that his declared transaction value is correct.
