DG NAB urges students, youth to raise awareness against corruption

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakthunkhwa Acting Director General Ifran Baig emphasized the need of constructive role of the youth and students in bringing awareness among masses against the menace of corruption.

Addressing the concluding session of the seminar on ‘Ethics in Engineering’ Organized by Character Building Society of CECOS University, Peshawar in collaboration with NAB KP at CECOS University, the Acting DG NAB underscored that we have to conduct such awareness sessions and seminars on regular basis and from grass root level.

He said role of media and educational universities to mould public opinion against scourge corruption was of immense importance.

The aim of this seminar was the prevention of corruption and mall practices and to inculcate the spirit of devotion and integrity among the future leadership.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, Prof Dr Riaz A Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the CECOS University suggested that the character building of youth should start from school level and research should be done on the cause of corruption.

Additional Director NAB Mian Muhammad Waqar introduced the structure of character building societies constituted in the Educational institutions and informed the participants that the main objective of these societies is to train the youth talents regarding moral values of the societies.
