DG Valuation issues reference value for Instant Water Gas Heaters, Cameras

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation issued the reference values for Instant Water Gas Heater and Cameras.

The Directorate General has initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are of wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market.

During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it was been observed that Instant Water Gas Heater falling under PCT heading 8419.1100 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.

The Directorate General, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys. The Directorate found that the customs values of Instant Water Gas Heater are as Instant Gas Water Heater Super Asia and NASGAS brand China origin US$3.50 per liter and Instant Gas Water Heater Low End brand China origin US$2.75 per liter.

The Directorate General initiated another exercise to develop database values for different items wherein has been observed that declarations are of wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market.

During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it has been observed that Cameras falling under PCT heading 8525.8040 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.

The Directorate General, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys. The Directorate found that the customs values of Cameras are as Canon brand Camera EOS6D Japan origin US$300 per piece, Canon brand Camera E070D Japan origin US$230 per piece, Nikon brand Camera D5500 Thailand origin US$175 per piece, Canon brand Camera E0S750D Japan origin US$165 per piece, Canon brand Camera 5Ds body Japan origin US$1481 per piece, Canon brand Camera EQS80P Body Japan origin US$427 per piece, Canon brand Camera EOS70P Body Thailand origin US$355 per piece, Canon brand Camera EOS700D Japan origin US$184 per piece, Nikon D700 kit. 18.105mm Japan US$296 per piece and Nikon 5300 18.140mm Japan origin US$309 per piece.

These values are, however, for reference/guidance only and final assessment may please be made after considering other factors which have bearing on the customs value.
