DG Valuation issues reference values for Ortho Xvlene & Phthalic Anhydride

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation issued the reference values for Ortho Xvlene 99% and another valuation Database is Phthalic Anhydride.

According to details, the Directorate General is populating Valuation Database Values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are of wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market.

During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it has been observed that Ortho Xylene 99% falling under PCT heading 2902.4100 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.

Sources said that the Directorate General, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys. Therefore the VDB values of Ortho Xylene 99% are as Ortho Xylene 99% India origin US$0.82 per kilogram

Meanwhile, the directorate general issued another valuation Database is Phthalic Anhydride.

The VDB values of Phthallic Anhydride are as Phthalic Anhydride Korea origin US$0.84 per kilogram and Phthalic Anhydride Russia origin US$0.81 per kilogram.

The clearance collectorates may like to consider the values given above before finalizing the assessment of the subject items. If further fine-tuning in specifications and ensuing values are required, the collectorate may forward a reference along with detailed justifications and worksheets so that requisite adjustments are accordingly issued.
