DG Valuation revises customs values of non-digital mechanical electricity meters

KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has revised the customs values of single phase non-digital mechanical electricity meters and fixed it at $2.5/ per piece for China origin and $4.0/per piece for other origins.

According to details, Director General has accordingly modified the Valuation Ruling No.931/2016 vide order-in-revision Bo.273/2016. M/s MAS Enterprises had approached the Directorate General against the valuation ruling No.931/2016 submitting that the values were exaggerated, grossly overvalued and without any substantial support. They submitted that commercial interests had been badly hurt and all commercial importers had stopped further import until fair values are determined.

After detailed deliberation of the case, Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmed inferred that values were determined vide the subject valuation ruling after examining the import data and market inquiry and analyzing all information. However, the values of single phase non-digital mechanical electricity meter needs revision and fixed the values of the said goods at $2.5/pc for China origin goods and $4.0/pc for other origin goods.
