Director Wasif Memon revises customs values of toilet soap

KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Valuation, Director Wasif Memon has revised customs values of toilet soap vide Valuation Ruling No.863/2016. Earlier, the customs values of toilet soap were determined through Valuation Ruling No.737/2015.

According to details, since 90 days have been passed and a number of representations were received from commercial importers and multi-national companies regarding determination of values. And, an exercise was initiated to re-determine the values.

According to valuation ruling, customs values of toilet soaps of brands Aspen, Aveeno, Canus, Cetaphil, Clinique, Defense Soap, Dermazinc Zinc, G Sensr Excel, Goat’s Milk Soap, Neutrogena, “ONE” Natural Body Soap, Prada and Sweet Honey have been fixed at $5.70/kg.

The values of toilet soaps of brands Body Shop Soap, Cerave, Cuticura, JF, Kirk’ Castile, Lilie De Vallee, Oilum, Palmers, Qrshi Demaghi, SheaMoiture, Stillman’s, Sun Feather, Tom’s, Tone, Yes To fixed at $3.15/kg, brands Burt’s Bees, Caress velvet blis, Dettol, Dermacide, Derma Care, Dial, Doctor Woods, Dove (Creamy Men’s cure), Enrgizr Max, Hi Tone, Mysore, Oilatum, Olay, Olivee, Olivia, Skin Doctor. Yardley, South of France, Yong Chin/YC (wooden packing) at $2.10/kg, brands Avon, Benzacide, Brut, Calendox, Camay, Coast, Dalan, Enchanteur, Froton, Fruity, Glysolid GlyserineD’, Hydrolatum, Imperial Leather (Cussons), Irish Spring, Johnsons & Johnsons, Lava, Lever 2000, Lux, Nivea, Old Spice, Palmolive, Pears, Pure Natural, Romano Classic, Safe Guard, Shea, Shield, Spring, Zest Scented fixed at $1.60/kg, brands Bee and Flower, Classic White, Cleopatra, Himalaya, Ivory, Vaseline at $1.25/kg, brands Diana, Dove Toilet, Dura Lady, Fa S Nat & Soft, Lace Bath, Pamela, Yong Chin/ YC, Dr. James, Yoko at $1.0/kg, brands Arqus, Asepso, Ava, Blitz, Charm, Cinthol, Crown Leather, Delux Palm, Fa, Fruit Scented, Hotel, IRIS, JO, Lervia, Lily Gold, Miss London, Paradise, Parisa, Piva, Royal Leather, Sanity, Silken, S oyalwitso, Vasolive, White Balance (Low -end brands) at $1.75/kg, brands  Admire, Alya, Amorish, Anita, Anna, Aven Liesel, Avena, Bea, BeaFruity, Blesso, Bling, Blossom, Bonita, Deep, Diva, Doll, Essentialz, Eva, Eve, Every Day, Flavia, Fruitina, Fruitis Fruity, Fruter Fruity, Giv, Glo, Godrej, Grace, Harmony, Ivan, Joke, Poly May, La Bella, Lace Creamy, Lark, Lily, Lexus, Lotus, Luv, Lykis, May, Midas, Miss London, Miss Paris, Morena, Olina, Orhid, Ozona, Plush, Royal, Safah, Sahara, Safex, Savannah, Secret Garden, Silk, Sofree, Soft Pearl, Sol, Suave, Tuti Fruiti, Vea, Vuru,(Low- end brands) at $0.66/kg.

While, other toilet soap brands of Europe/USA/Canada will be assessed to  duty and taxes at $2.0/kg, Middle East, Turkey and Saudi Arabia at $1.25/kg and other brands of other origins (low-end brands) to be assessed at $1.0/kg. Moreover, facial liquid soaps/wash (in tube) will be assessed at 25 percent higher value than the values of non-liquid soaps.
