Director Yaqoob Mako’s Customs Intelligence seizes 22,000kg explosive material

KARACHI: Foiling the smuggling of explosive material in guise of imported consignments, the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-Enforcement has seized 22,000 kilogram of explosive material from containers grounded at Port Qasim, Karachi.

As per details, Customs Intelligence-Enforcement Director Yaqoob Mako received information through Director General Imtiaz Ahmad Khan regarding the import of explosive material. On which Director Yaqoob, Additional Director Farukh Sajjad and Deputy Director Tosseef Amman formed a team to track the containers.

Under the supervision of Superintendent Ilyas Ahmed, the team comprising Senior Intelligence officer Tariq Rafiq, Intelligence officers Liaqat Ali and Anwar Farooque examined the containers at the port and found a container grounded since November 20, 2015 loaded with explosive material, which has been seized. It may mention here that Peshawar Customs Intelligence has also seized two containers of dangerous material earlier.
