KARACHI: The legal work at the Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday came to a halt as the legal fraternity boycotted the court proceedings.
The Sindh Bar Council had announced a complete strike all over the province to protest against unlawful arrest and detention of the members of Sanghar Bar Association on alleged political basis.
Following the strike call, the lawyers at the Customs Court requested Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi to suspend the cases. While allowing their request, the court postponed the hearing of 27 cases fixed for the hearing on Thursday.
