Directorate of Customs I&I issues schedule for auction of seized goods

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (ASO) Karachi region has announced the schedule for auction of the confiscated non-duty paid items in the remaining days of the current fiscal year 2015-16.

According to details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while following the directives of the Director-Customs I&I (ASO) Asif Marghoob Siddiqui, has issued an auction schedule of the confiscated materials and items.

As per the auction schedule, the team of Customs I&I would hold the auction at its warehouse located at Saeedabad in SITE area.

The confiscated items included old cloths, non-duty paid vehicles, electronic items, steel scrape, chemicals, tiles, embroidery machines, rubber sheets, plastic dana, fleece fabric and etc.

The auction of those confiscated items will take place on 20-June till 24-June continuously and then it would take place on 27-June, 29 and 30-June respectively. The sources informed this scribe that the Customs I&I-ASO would collect millions of rupees revenue from those auctions and the collected revenue would be incurred in the national exchequer.

The auction timings would be from 9.00am to 3.00pm due to holy month of Ramadan while the superintendents and assistant directors would look after the matters of auctions.
