KARACHI: The Directorate of Reforms and Automation is working to link the Export Oriented Units (EOUs) with WeBOC, automated system.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Export Oriented Units (EOUs) would be linked with WeBOC by the end of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15.
The authorities concerned have completed the study in this regard in which the Directorate of Reforms and Automation would link the export system of the Pakistan Customs with the automated system of clearance of goods declaration.
It was further revealed that the 80 percent of the work has been completed in this regard and the programme is being run on a test basis, while final touch to the programme would be given by the end of March with the approval of the Directorate of Reforms and Automation.

The linking of EOUs with WeBOC would certainly remove the chances of tax evasion, as authorities would easily get the access to goods declaration (GD) filed by exporters in respect of their face value.
